A Heart for Missions

God gave me a heart for Uganda at 7 years old…

2001
Uganda
My first mission trip was to Uganda under Bro & Sis Royers while teaching a Sunday school class; God gave me the gift of reverence for His word. This altered my walk with God as I poured myself into study so that I may know the truth assuredly
2001
Congo
The Royers and I were invited to the rebel-controlled city of Kisangani to attend a revival conference. It was hosted by new formed apostolic organization birthed through a Baptist and Catholic university debate group. What a privilege to witness God’s work in Congo!
2002
Spain

I worked in the animation industry for two years in Spain. A new church plant in the city of Valencia became home. My heart carries a burden for the ethnic Spanish and one day; I will return to work in the fields of Spain. During my stay in Spain, I picked up Spanish. I learned so well that I dreamed and did math in Spanish. When I returned to Canada for the first few months, I struggled to speak in English full-time.
2004+
Travels
My global interest in cultures, history, and art took me around a few places. The burden for missions grew wider as I journeyed (and most times connected with churches in) Japan, Hong Kong, Macau, China, Easter Island & Chile, Peru, Mexico, Nicaragua, Cuba, The Bahamas, Morocco, Egypt, Israel, Jordan and more.
2023
Paraguay
During the AIM application process, I did not set out to serve in Paraguay, but God had other plans. The harvest in Paraguay is ready and plentiful and needs more labourers.
How could I not go?
It is anticipated to depart in the spring of 2023.
Sobre Yo.
Some know me as a visual commutations designer or illustrator. To others, an instructor at a world-class film school. To many, I am known as an introverted eccentric. All true!
Fast facts
Home is the rainy city of Vancouver, Canada.
My favourite animal is the Warthog. Yes. Warthogs.
I am a Cree-Métis (indigenous ethnic groups.)
I enjoy kettlebells, hikes, and roller staking.
Solo backpacking the globe is my jam.
Aside from my secular work I have been an on-going illustrator and designer contractor for Pentecostal Publishing House since 2001. Additionally, I helped local churches with branding, communications, content, campaigns, and events.
On This Rock
My pursuit is to bring others the foundation: being the Lord Jesus Christ, our God and Saviour. This ‘brand’ name felt fitting. Not only does it speak to the work I will do in Paraguay, but also to the work I have been doing.
I hope to grow On This Rock to include home Bible Study programs and more as the Lord would have me do.
