AIM to Paraguay

UPCI Global Missions AIM Program is entry level short-term ministry

The Great Commission
Paraguay was not the nation I applied for, but when this nation was suggested for me to consider, a burden rapidly cultivated in my heart.
The Program
What it is not is a vacation. AIMers support supervising missionaries while developing ministry skills to apply to their home churches or to move forward with short-term missions work.
The Nation
Paraguay is a landlocked country in South America, with its natural beauty and waterfalls. The country is rich in pre- and post-Columbian culture and traditions. Indigenous peoples of the lands are made of seventeen nations, the most significant being the Guaraní nation. Nearly all Paraguayans speak both Guaraní and Spanish. As an indigenous woman, Cree and Métis, working among my people of the south is a beautiful thing.
The Work
I am currently involved in teaching Sunday school (in Spanish), music, graphic design, social media, and wherever I can be of assistance. Additionally, I will support the church’s school for underprivileged children by teaching English and art (in Spanish).
The Cost
I have used up my personal funds, and I take on freelance work to cover the continuing cost of being in Paraguay. However, the mission work is time-consuming, limiting my ability to generate funds from contracts. Your generous support will free up my time to focus on fulfilling great commissions full-time.
The Missionaries
The Birs are career missionaries. They serve Bolivia, Peru and Paraguay.
I happily assist the Birs with their Christian School, Neuvas Alturas, the primary harvest field.
