So, I finally arrived
On May 27, as I was getting off the plane in Paraguay, I was hit with a familiar pungent smell. It took me back to Uganda, where I served as an AIMer in 2001. Instantly, I knew I was gonna to love it here.
It has been a month since I arrived, and I am settling easily with the help of Missionaries Birs and family and AIMer Lanae.
Christian education
On Tuesdays the students of Nuevas Alturas are gathered together in church for fun worship and a lesson. It is all high energy, and the children love it. My favourite part is when we lead the dancing and seeing their happy faces.
Please, pray with us for the students, they are the mission field. :D
Ladies tea
Earlier in June, I joined the ladies of our church of Lambaré to help decorate the church for an evening of fellowship and hearing the word delivered by Sandra Pintos.
She and her family are regional missions from Colombia, and they are returning to their country to pastor a church in Cali. We ended the evening praying for her. I know already I will be missing their family.
Anniversary service
On June 4th, we drove out to the Anahí church to celebrate their 16th anniversary. Aside from making new connections, it was a joy to celebrate with them. They blessed us with special songs and preaching. After, we had fellowship together over traditional Paraguayan foods.
Cell Ministry
We meet on Wednesday evenings under the canopy of trees in a home's backyard. The group was started by the regional mission, Brother Pinto. Making connections has been easy; everyone is interested in the Canadian who finds it cold here.
